
Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls region
Spectacular all year round, see this area from the ground in the dry season, and from the air in the we season. The Jim Jim Area is accessible only in the dry season by 4WD. Visitors can explore the spectacular and challenging walks or take a boat shuttle ride to Twin Falls over crystal clear waters. Please observe all crocodile warning signs. Scenic flights are also very popular, and allow visitors to see the spectacular Jim Jim Falls, which are in full flow only during the wet season.

Main Attractions:
Jim Jim Falls Plunge Pool
(Dry season only, 4WD)
Turn east off the Kakadu Highway 43 km south of the Bowali Centre. Engage 4WD, travel 60 km. Allow two hours one-way. The last 10 km of track includes areas of soft sand. Features a 2 km return walk through monsoon forest and over boulders to a deep plunge pool surrounded by spectacular 150 m high cliffs. Allow one to two hours.
Estuarine crocodiles have been known to move into the Jim Jim Falls area.
Twin Falls Gorge
(Dry season only, high clearance 4WD, snorkel recommended)
From Garnamarr travel 8 km towards Jim Jim Falls, turn right and travel a further 10 km to Twin Falls. Engage 4WD. The last section involves a deep water crossing at Jim Jim Creek. Allow half an hour from Jim Jim Falls, one way. Access to Twin Falls is by a boat shuttle service and a walking track over boulders and sand, and a boardwalk. Tickets for the boat shuttle can be purchased at the Bowali Visitor Centre, Twin Falls or commercial outlets. Allow two hours.
Swimming is prohibited in Twin Falls Gorge as estuarine crocodiles may occur here.
